This is the first post using the Liketu front end. It's a new experience, I am attracted to everything that is made for photography and I hope that this will promote the posts about photography even more and the community of those interested will gather and grow.
Before I let the photos flow, I'll try to express a few thoughts about this contest. The first one would be that I think this theme is harder for amateurs than for professionals. Because a portrait needs a model, doesn't it? Well, professional photographers also have professional models, while amateurs normally don't have models at all, or at best they have amateur models.
I'm talking about me now. My role models are often family members. They don't even know they are models! That can be an advantage and a benefit in naturalness.
My role model was my brother's little boy who lives in the country. He was, when I photographed him, one and a half years old. His name is Nicolae - Iustin. The fact that he lives in the country is irrelevant but it explains the feelings I hope I managed to capture on his face. Because he was seeing me for the first time in his life. He knew about his uncle's existence from the city far away and now he was very, very curious to see him!
A good portrait photo can tell someone's life story and really give some good insight on what makes that person who they are and what they are into.
Nicolae-Iustin seems to have a very big head, this is the case with very young children. After they grow, this is repaired and the proportions become normal. But now Nicolae-Justin reminds me of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
As I said, this is my first post on Liketu and it's a test. I hope it will be good. In fact, photography is important here!
