Autumn is in its last quarter and has not yet shown all it can. It has only shown what it can't, which is to break away from summer, although it is late, very late for that.
The climate changes, we change, the world changes. What's left for us to do? A walk, of course...
When it comes to walking, parks are my most frequented places. The parks and the city center, the old town. Sometimes I get overwhelmed by melancholy and longing and I tell stories of the walks of my old trips, just to train my memory a little and not let it fall asleep for good.
The parks I frequent most are Bazilescu Park, which is 50 meters from my house; Circus Park, which is a place I love very much and Herastrau Park, the king of parks in Bucharest, which is the largest and has a large lake in the center. These parks are enough to satisfy my need for a walk and nature.
Sometimes I also happen to visit another park, for diversity or if my activities bring me near them.
Bordei is a young park. It is next to Herastrau Park and even shares the lake with it.
In fact, it was even a part of the Herastrau Park that several real estate developers wanted to build. In the end, they failed and the city hall recovered the land and developed the park. People are not used to this park and few people can be seen walking through it. I myself like the parks stripped bare of people and recently took a walk, with a friend and my wife.
Bordei Park is very similar to Herastrau. Same water and the same kind of trees. What is special is a bicycle footbridge. It was an earlier initiative of the city hall to make bike paths linking all the parks in the city.
There's something else interesting about this park. The view of the tallest buildings in the city.
Bucharest is a city in a strong and active seismic zone. Most earthquakes have their epicenter in Vrancea, an area on the edge of the Carpathian Mountains. This is where the fault is and where deep earthquakes occur, around 150 km, with tremors above 7 degrees Righter.
Interesting but also scary coincidence. The earthquakes occur at a depth of 150 km and the distance between Bucharest and Vrancea is also about 150 km!
Major earthquakes happen approximately every 50 years. The last major earthquake, measuring 7.4 Richter, was in March 1977. More than 2,000 people died!
I was 23 at the time and didn't know what an earthquake was. I lived on the fifth floor of a building that had survived... and that's how I survived!
It's been 46 years since then and the next earthquake can strike at any time. It is a great stress for me and for many people who remember the previous earthquake.
Because Bucharest is in this seismic zone no tall buildings have been built. Until twenty years ago there were no buildings in the city with more than 25 floors.
In recent years, however, technologically advanced builders have started to build taller buildings, up to 40 floors. Especially for offices and multinationals.
The cylinder-like Sky Tower is 36 floors (137 meters) high and is the tallest in the city, but it looks like the building that is nearby and under construction will be taller!
Okay, now let's get down to earth. The park is for walking and getting close to nature. My companions have found a place to express their admiration for nature and flowers... and take them home. Kind of unpleasant and I tried to stop them, but, I can't fight with "romantic" spirits!
I also discovered some drawings similar to the ones in the Nazca Peruvian desert, only they were on the asphalt of the alleys.

Eventually, we understood what kind of drawings were under our feet. A kind of Formula 1 car circuit made by children.
I love these pontoons on the lake water, and the vegetation on the shore. I find it a nice place to fish but I would never fish in a park.
The time has come to end this walk, the time has come to draw the curtain.
The curtain, in this place, can only be natural and vegetal!
Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss.
