Sure, you see me and my veggies gardens all day and all the time... but for me, the outdoors is more than simply food.
ABOVE, welcoming people to my front door, is a simple splash of colour. Each side of my front steps has a large planter, filled with this trio of reds, oranges and yellows.
Above: tons of male and female flowers seen inside the Zucchini! Note, right inside the core are Blossoms about to open! Also one tiny zucchini (Courgette) growing. Below: One of the three Green Zucchini Elite varieties growing. Note, to right is a Spaghetti squash plant.
You never know from year to year, but two years ago, each plant produced a dozen or so Zucchini during the entire season.
Last year my zucchini produced less, maybe only 4 to 6 per plant. And the yellow zucchini produced only 1 or 2 each. I am hoping for 6 per green zucchini plant, and 4 per yellow zucchini. We shall see. Based on the blooms, I am ever hopeful!
Gardening To DO:
I just replanted more Red Romaine, and Green Butter Crisp lettuce
harvesting lettuce daily
tie up even more tomato, build trellis
weed more between onions, perhaps begin to cull some onion and thin the plantings.
thin carrot, too
