Happy New Year!

2020... a wild and woolly year, if ever there was one. My entire industry (Special Events) was shut down on 13 March and hasn't been back yet. Personally, I am ok, but so many of my colleagues and friends are struggling with bills, paying for food and rent, medical and health insurance.

Normally, a large part of friends and colleagues are working this time of year. In Times Square, or one of thousands of events world wide. Not this year... we each are gathering in ones and twos, or will family alone.

So, we gathered, simple night of appetizers, myself, wife, and two daughters, and a boyfriend!

Above, top to bottom: Cheese Phyllo Triangle, and Gyro Phyllo Triangles, Pork Dumplings, Mandarin Roasted Chicken, and Honey BBQ chicken wings!

Trying our hand at Saganaki, a Greek Dish of Friend Cheese. Usually, it's with a Kasseri. I did some flour on Havarti, and fried it. The finishing touch is applied with some Ouzo and a match... It was good, but tasted nothing like Saganaki!

Finally, my world famous Blackened Parmesan Cheese Pita Chips. Mind you, this was NOT my intent.

... and when I say blackened , I mean:
Daughter: "Do you smell smoke?"
Me: "What? Smoke...? SHIT SHIT SHIT SHIT" opens oven, and sees flames shooting about two feet high!

So, my homemade Parmesan Pita Crisps... one should toast them for less that an hour.

Grabbed from oven, flaming tray about 18-24 inches high, and tossed into sink. Some delicate, soft, Greek Fur may have been lost in the process! I suspect my hand will be fine...maybe.
