So, I have been ranting over the fact that being a plankton is not one of the greatest thing to happen to a steemian, but I seem not very satisfied with my plenty rants and probably need to write more and say more about being a plankton on steemit.
10 REASONS WHY BEING PLANKTON SUCKS
1) WE ARE NOTHING NEAR MINNOWS
When I first joined steemit, I thought I was a minnow and was mad at the fact that I was one! Then suddenly, it got dawned on me that I was nothing near a minnow but plankton! How did that happen? I can’t be that plankton in SpongeBob square pants! You know in situations like this, anyone would want to really become a minnow, because I think it is much better if he was a minnow! 2) WE MAY BE NOT FISHES
Steemit categorizes its users using sea animals and of this five animals, 3 are fishes, 1 mammal and the last is not! Guess what, planktons are nothing near fishes and according to Wikipedia;
Plankton is the diverse collection of organisms that live in large bodies of water and are unable to swim against a current. They provide a crucial source of food to many large aquatic organisms, such as fish and whales.
Oh well.
3) WE PROBABLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE ARE
You know, the smallest and largest group on steemit is called plankton which I also talked about not being fishes earlier. But then, this group is also called red fish in some cases. So, there is a 99% chance that we do not fit into anywhere. Maybe we have the ability to switch structure and physique. In busy.org, we are planktons and in steemitboard.com, we are red fishes… The choice is yours.
4) WE ARE SO SMALL THAT THE COMMUNITY DOESN'T SEE US
You know, everything on steemit is about minnows and whales that sometimes I wonder if they actually know that planktons do exist. On steemit, it is either help a Minnow, or whales help a minnow grow. lol. Being a plankton with small earnings does not mean your posts are of no value, it only means that you only under the food chain. lol. The problem is that, there are too so many of us fighting for attention but then there are the aggresive ones swiftly walking their way out of being planktons
5) WE DON'T EVEN KNOW THAT WE ARE PLANKTONS
Without beating around the bush, 99% of the planktons on steemit do not know that they are planktons. I earlier mentioned the fact that I thought I was a minnow! Yes, most newbies in here actually do think they are minnows.
6) OUR VOTE POWER IS ZERO TO NONE
I have seen vote power of some users and compared to mine, Is a thing to get jealous of. A single vote from people like this will super skyrocket a user's earning in here and a single flag will surely bury one's destiny. It is so sad that our like has little or no effects on our like activities on steemit. Slow and steady! You can see the amounts of vests you have currently on STEEMITBOARD.
7) WE BARELY GET LIKES OR VIEWS
Being a plankton sucks big time! trust me. You know that feeling you get when you think you have created something super great that would not miss being seen by a large group of people but the end result is disappointing after everything and effort. 3 views and a little more than 0.1usd. Oh well, the future is surely bright.
8) IT WILL TAKE LOTS OF HARD WORK TO BECOME A MINNOW
As you should know, a minnow is yet another underdog on steemit but at least they hold more values than planktons. And moving from being a plankton to being a minnow will take nothing less than 1,000,000 vests to become a minnow. Earning that is going to need a lot of hard work I must say.
