Cletus Defies Ritual.
Cletus returned from France for the first time since being born there to participate in the annual ritual of his community. The ritual involves the king, all the cabinet members, and all the members of the cult.
Usually, the oracle always demands a dog to be killed, roasted, and eaten by the cult members. Additionally, a cow is slaughtered by a person chosen by the Oracle.
The lot fell on Cletus to kill and disembody the cow. Unfortunately, Cletus, being a die-hard lover of dogs and an animal enthusiast, expressed his disapproval of the ritual, dissociating himself from it. Consequently, Cletus will not be accepted as a full member of the male class and would face banishment from the community. Furthermore, the oracle predicted that Cletus would be afflicted by a mysterious disease and die.
The next day, Cletus left his community for the city, and after a few weeks, he returned to France and settled there.
Twenty years later, he came back as a preacher to hold a crusade in his hometown. To everyone's surprise, the oracle could not harm Cletus, leading the community leader to doubt the power of the chief priest and the oracle
After the crusade, the king and a great number of the people in the community believed in the gospel of Cletus. Subsequently, the king of Ebetutu abolished the annual ritual. The square, where the platform for sacrifices once stood, was transformed into a crusade platform.
