Ugwu seeds also called ugu seeds by the Igbo's are the seeds derived from the pod of African fluted pumpkin. Ugu is a type of leaf vegetables used for the making of soup and food in Nigeria and other countries. Ugu seeds are rich in fat and protein.
Spinach seeds are a great source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, C, and K, as well as iron, calcium, and potassium.
Last night I felt like to increase my protein intake so I went to my garden and took one fluted pumpkin (okpo ugu)
Ugu seed can be eaten as meal, yesterday I really enjoyed myself. It very easy to cook and the only ingredient needed is salt and water to cook.
Procedure one
Use knife to open the fluted pumpkin, then remove the seed
Wash the seed very well, them out it in the pot.
Cook for about 25-30 minutes and the food is ready. The last stage is just to peal and eat.
All pictures are mine and was taken by my phone Tecno 8P.
