Tela and his friends were watching a movie and playing a game respectively when, in the middle of the night, they heard a loud gunshot in the compound. They quickly took cover, and some tried to peek through the window to find out what was going on. Tela lived on the top floor, and suddenly they started hearing the sound of the armed robbers banging on doors and threatening their neighbors on the lower floors.
Looking down from upstairs, Tela saw that there were many robbers, and their menacing activities were spreading from one floor to another. Realizing that the criminals would soon reach them, Tela and his friends began to strategize on what to do. Then Tela said, "We need parachutes."
Kola, a young police officer who was spending the night with Tela and his friends, suggested calling the police. The rest of the group agreed with the idea, so Kola dialed the police line and said, "Armed robbery operation at 82 Tip Close Road," and the police replied, "Noted, expect us soon."
However, Nicey expressed concerns that the police might take too long to arrive while the robbers were approaching rapidly. He alarmed, "Let's think of getting parachutes and forget the arrival of the police." 'Kola' replied, "Let's give them the benefit of doubt." Nicey retorted, "Oh, save me that trash, we all know they won't come until after the robbery."
Ben pointed out that jumping from the fourth floor over the walls of the compound would be risky and could prove fatal. Then he knelt down and said, "Almighty God, please let the robbers leave our compound, better still provide parachutes for us to fly away like eagles."
Amid the loud noises of the robbers breaking doors and the cries of their neighbors, Kola came up with another suggestion. He said, "Let's leave the door wide open."
Tela asked, "Why?" Kola explained that it might give the impression that they were not resisting, potentially reducing the risk of harm. As they discussed, the armed robbers drew nearer.
Tela agreed to Kola's plan, and quickly, Kola opened the door wide. The robbers entered the house, and before they arrived, the boys had placed all their money on the table. Upon entering, the robbers found the boys lying face down on the floor.
kola told them that it was all the money they had in the apartment, and the robbers demanded their phones. After searching the place, they only found phones and a bottle of whiskey. One of the robbers, wearing Timberland shoes, pointed his gun at Nicey while the others enjoyed the whiskey. One of them menacingly mentioned that the boys would be "baptized" for cooperating and poured a little whiskey on three of the boys, and gave Nicey a little of the whiskey to sip. Then they left with the stolen money, phones, and whiskey.
Shortly after, the boys heard several gunshots, and a minute later, they heard the sound of cars speeding away. Nicey let out a sigh of relief as the tension eased.
They all went downstairs to check on their neighbors, and Tela remarked, "So the police did not come." Ben replied, "Our parachute was the opened door," and Nicey added, "That's right."
