Wecome to thereeyors' blog and today, I wil review the nigerian movie called blood Sisters!
From the advert to the end of the movie, one can see that the vibes are different.
Oh! Blood Sisters is not just a movie; it shows how desperate people in authority can go to seek power, maintain status, and build dominance.
The beginning of the movie shows the wedding event with powerful icons in the movie industry. If that setting were a real-life wedding, my God, that was ridiculously expensive.
On her wedding day, the bride, Sarah (played by Ini Dima-Okojie), was with her husband Kola (played by Deyemi Okanlawon). Kola was really aggressive, grabbing the neck of the bride and almost strangling her.
Her best friend, Kemi (played by Nancy Isime), accidentally killed Sarah's abusive husband in self-defense.
I am not totally in support of her action because husbands and wives can quarrel over one thing or another. But since this was a self-defense case and a mistake, I pardon them.
If such a thing occurs, one would want to hide it from the outside world, especially in a country like Nigeria. Additionally, one would also, by instinct, try to shield oneself from danger.
Initially, they kept him in the bath. They also gave the false pretence that the groom ran away.
This also wasn't the end. Kola's friend, who didn't even know what had happened, tried to call his friend but all to no avail.
Later, we found out that they wrapped his body in a garbage bag, hid it, and later buried him in a shallow grave at night.
Hmm!
Several hours after Kola's departure, the girls were on the move. They ran for their lives because their secret would sooner or later be exposed.
Na God sabi why them go marry big people.
Initially, I saw their situation as wealthy people using influence. But later I was shocked to realize that they were Kola's criminal family using influence.
Kola's mum was a demagogue. And Kola's sister, to me, was a saint who was constantly placed in a psychiatric home despite being normal, though she used drugs...
Don't be surprised that I used this choice of words. What unfolds later in the story exposes a lot of the phony life that these wealthy individuals engaged themselves in.
Kola's best friend did a lot of investigation and uncovered a lot of grotesque things. If this movie were a real-life story, I would bless Kola's friend seriously.
Kola's friend discovered that Kola was a serial abuser and predator who had molested his victims. Some of them were his previous girlfriends. He would physically assault and manipulate them. He was like a killer in the Korean movie Death's Game, where he paints their suffering.
Hmm! Kola's ruthless and powerful mother, Uduak Ademola (played by Kate Henshaw), also behaves like a mob boss. By the end of the season, it is exposed that she actually murdered her own husband years ago to cover up her dark secrets.
How can she be so cruel as to murder her own husband?
