I was watching weather forecast for the next seven days and was pretty surprised since the weather will be mostly sunny with an average temperature of around 15° C. Don't get me wrong, I love the beautiful weather for many reasons, but we are currently on the verge of when winter will start and the weather is much more like early spring, that's not good!
Every year I see less and less snow, which is very weird for me. I remember my childhood and winters back then, in November-December it would start to snow and it would fall in large quantities, it would stay until the end of March or the beginning of April and it was a real winter. I love watching the snow fall, but the only thing I dislike about winter is snow shoveling! :)
In the attached photo you can see the canal with a lot of water surface, I just long for the canal to completely freeze as it used to be a long time ago, I can no longer remember the last time it happened. It really is an incredibly good feeling to walk in the middle of a canal and look at it from a completely new perspective. Thick ice is created and allows you to step safely, if you like ice skating the canal is long and wide enough for this activity. Many people are afraid of the ice because you can hear the sound of ice cracking very often, but after some time spent on the ice, the fear that you might break through the ice disappears.
Last year, in same time, the first snow had already fallen, but lingering for only a week, it quickly melted. If you're wondering how I remember when the first snow fell last year, the answer is very simple: I just look at my photo archive and always know what happened on certain day! I do not know what is causing these drastic climate changes, but I guess humans are the main culprits!
I still live in hope, maybe my wishes come true, even if only for a week, to be honest I would be more than happy!
