Have you ever been able to photograph one and the same scene year after year, ok. the scene may not be completely identical but it is the same location, the same subjects as the same time of year?! This has been happening to me for several years now.
Late autumn or the first part of winter when the weather is still nice, sunny day, I come to the bridge and mostly watch the right side of the canal because the edges of the shoreline are covered with reed that has a characteristic yellow color and the clear blue sky reflects on the water surface and takes on deep blue color. The central figures of the photo are, of course, the swans who enjoy their activities sailing in this beautiful blueness.
It takes a few elements to almost perfectly match in one day: a sunny day at certain times of the year, clear blue skies, and the swans to be where you want them to be, and you need to be a very careful observer to spot that match and make it a photo of that moment. If you miss the opportunity, then there is a whole year ahead of you that you will have to wait for a new chance to take a photo of that moment!
Waiting, if you ask anyone if they like to wait for something or someone, you will generally get the same answer from all the questionnaires and the answer may most likely be: I hate waiting! Many times to take a photo you have to be armed with patience and wait, sometimes it's hours, days, weeks, months or even years! But every effort you make is ultimately worth it, giving you the feeling of satisfaction that you still achieved your goal, regardless of all the difficulties you managed to overcome!
