With a fresh start on a new property at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains, I am able to begin a new garden designed in my image!

A rectangular plot with a single home, which I quickly added a shed, and lots of sunlight throughout the day to provide the seeds I sow with the energy needed to grow. The soil has clearly remained undisturbed for some time before I turned it up.

All the different species of tomato and pepper planted in rows. A few sprouts so far but may not see much success if I don’t bring a more consistent way to water. Dries out too fast when I’m out at work.

A fresh bed for strawberries we hope will eventually take over the patch. But for this year, we threw some carrot seeds down to fill the patch.

I won’t worry too much about this years harvest of strawberries... many more years to expand and provide!

Our first asparagus stalks to shoot up! Won’t be bothering this for at least another year.

Containers of mostly peppers of the super hot kind. Ghosts and Reapers. Some marigold flowers growing as well as a couple tomatoes of the lemon boy, pineapple, and Cherokee purple type. Two blueberry bushes and cucumbers in a container we will hang soon.

Adding a different provider of food for the household would be these shiitake logs I inoculated a year or so back. Finally beginning to produce here and there, waiting for they first big “pop”.

Neat looking!

We have been experiencing some very heavy downpours with high winds a couple days in a row now...

There was a tornado warning on that particular cell that I managed to step outside to catch a shot of. The gusts produced were very significant, trees snapped. Thankful no tornado touched down, however similar the photos I took appear to resemble a funnel cloud not yet touching down.

Heavy rains and hot dry days in between likely killed some of the tomato sprouts I had shoot up. But I will not give up!

James is a freak when referring to water. Kid will drop everything to get in the water and play. What a joy he is. So much love for my boy.

Take care y’all.

I pray to Heavenly Father.
