Yesterday, I went to the garden and helped clean while my mom was watering our plants. The weather was nice, so I decided to take some photos to update our little garden.

Our malabar spinach has been growing really well. My parents already harvested some leaves earlier that day for our lunch, and there are still a lot of them left. They were delicious, and its health benefits are a huge bonus.

Then our strawberries keep on growing, which is a good thing. We're just waiting for them to finally bear some fruit. When our landlady came here, she was surprised by how big they've grown. She just gave us one small strawberry plant, and now there are three pots of them from the same plant she gave us.

Around this area, we also have some ornamental and medicinal plants. As for the medicinal plants, we only have oregano for now. It's good for coughs. :) We're planning to have more herbal plants in the future and allocate a small space for them.

In our old place, we used to have a lot of aloe vera and mayana plants, though we don't really use them. Some of our neighbors do, so they sometimes ask us for some. But recently, my mom likes drinking natural tea from some plants in the garden, so it would be nice to add more healthy choices for that.

The first plant is a bell pepper... it's still small, but it's healthy. :) Then, our chili plant has been bearing chilis now... you can see some red ones that we can harvest anytime we want...

And aside from them, we also have some spring onions... There is some lemongrass in the area, too... but we didn't plant them inside a pot... Though we planted some of them inside a tire. XD

I didn't know what this was, so I asked my mom. She said it's called Saluyot. We got it from our landlady when we went to the school garden. We can eat the leaves, and I also noticed some pods growing. My mom wasn't familiar with it, either. So when I reverse searched on Google, it's also edible, but we can eat the green and young ones. It's similar to okra. They're tiny, though... so I wonder if they'll grow bigger. XD

I mentioned earlier that we planted some lemongrass in a tire... actually, beside it, some plants are sprouting. Can you recognize what it is? :D It's a tomato! These are just regular tomatoes. Unfortunately, our cherry tomato didn't survive... so maybe I'll try to buy some seeds to plant in the future. By then, we'll be preparing better soil and conditions for it to survive. For now, we'll take care of these small tomato plants, so we can harvest some fresh ones in the future.

And speaking of sprouts... Our avocado sprouted!!

The last time we bought avocados, we thought the quality was really good, so we decided to germinate the pit. And now, maybe a few weeks later, two of them sprouted. The other one didn't survive, though... but these two are growing well. :D

Once they grow more, we're going to transfer or replant them. They're going to be a nice addition to the fruit trees we already have in the garden.

It would be awesome to harvest from them in the future! :D

I'll end this garden update here for now. Thanks for checking, and see you around! (^^,).
