Pleased to say I was able to attend the first ever Chiltern Kills Crime Fiction Festival in Gerrards Cross in the UK at the weekend. There was a veritable horde of top-line authors in attendance discussing various aspects of their writing lives.

Top of the bill was an hour long interview with Frederick Forsyth. Turns out that his own life has been every bit as adventurous and exciting as those experienced by the characters in his books. He spent time working for MI6 during the Cold War and met some ‘interesting’ characters in the southern reaches of Africa some years after that. He also told us he’s working on a new book, so keep an eye out for that if he’s one of your favourite authors.

Someone with a great sense of humour named on the on-site bar The WhoDunHim Inn. Classic.

Can you see any of your favourite crime authors in my photos?

And what about you, have you been to any bookish events this year?
