Good day, friends. I hope you all are doing great and I wish you all an amazing day ahead. It’s my pleasure to be here again today sharing another post with you all. I truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to read, engage, and support my content. Thank you, and I hope you enjoy today’s post.
In my observation, I think one of the biggest problems with learning is that we sometimes expect ourselves to feel ready before we begin. We want the perfect environment, we want enough time, the right resources and sometimes we even want to be in the right mood before we start learning. And If those things are missing, we tell ourselves we will start later, thereby procrastinating learning to some other time…. but learning rarely works that way.

The most important thing about learning is your reason for learning… Sometimes you learn because you were confused about something and decided to understand it, and then you started browsing about it. Sometimes you learn because you made a mistake and refused to make the same mistake again, while sometimes you simply learn because you became curious about something that had nothing to do with your original plans. For instance: you were walking down the street, then you came across a real estate billboard and from there you started getting curious about what real estate truly means, before you know it, you started searching about it and learning something completely new.
One of the most interesting part of learning is that it does not always feel like progress while it is happening. You can find yourself spending an hour or two trying to understand something and still feel like you know nothing. You can practice something for days and still look average at it, you can read a whole textbook and realize that you only understood a small part of it, but that does not mean the time you spent while doing this was wasted. I think we have become too attached to visible progress, always wanting to see results immediately, but education is often doing something much quieter. Deep down, quietly changing the way you think.
You might start learning a new language and suddenly you begin to notice how differently another person expresses an idea. You might learn about technology and begin to understand how much of the world around you is actually built on systems you have never paid attention to. You might start learning a creative skill and discover that patience is actually part of the skill itself…. And this is one of the reason why I don’t think education should only be measured by certificates alone. I’m not saying certificates aren’t necessary but certificates can only show that you completed something, but they don’t always show how much your thinking changed.
Real learning should eventually change the questions you ask. At first, you might ask, “How do I do this?”. But after learning, you start asking, “Why does it work this way?”. Then eventually, you might start asking, “Is there a better way to do it?”…. That is where learning becomes more than memorizing information but becomes curiosity.
So maybe we should stop waiting until we feel motivated enough to learn before we can start learning, instead learning should start right away… Pick something, read about it, try it, get confused, ask questions, make mistakes, try again.

And the most important thing is that you should not be afraid of making mistakes because mistakes are part of learning, they are inevitable and they will help you improve. You don’t have to become an expert today, you just have to leave today knowing something you didn’t know yesterday.
If you don’t mind can you share your thoughts about something you are currently learning that has changed the way you think?
