Greetings creative community, happy and blessed Friday together with your loved ones, I am taking advantage of the vacations to organize and finish sewing projects, also reviewing the fabric bag I found several scraps of fabric that can serve me for new works, this time I share the development of a hooded sweater for my son, I have made him several, but at school they only allow blue to match the pants, taking advantage of the remaining fabric from two (2) projects, I made a navy blue sweater with royal blue, I thought that the navy blue fabric could be enough but due to the amount of pieces of the sweater it was not possible and I completed it with another fabric.
Saludos comunidad creativa, feliz y bendecido viernes en unión de sus seres queridos, les comento que estoy aprovechando las vacaciones para organizar y terminar los proyectos de costura, también revisando la bolsa de telas encontré varios retazos de tela que me pueden servir para nuevos trabajos, en esta ocasión comparto la elaboración de un suéter con capucha para mi hijo, le he hecho varios, pero en la escuela solo permiten de color azul para que vaya a juego con el pantalón, aprovechando la tela restante de dos (2) proyectos, hice un suéter de color azul marino con azul rey, pensé que la tela azul marino podía alcanzar pero por la cantidad de piezas del suéter no fue posible y completé con otra tela.

I started by marking and cutting the pieces; front, back, sash, cuffs, sleeves, hood, pocket, bias for the hood, then I faced the back and front and joined at the shoulders with a straight stitch.
Inicié marcando y cortando las piezas; delantero, trasero, fajón, puños, mangas, capucha, bolsillo, sesgo para la capucha, luego enfrenté la parte trasera y delantera y uní por los hombros con puntada recta.
The next step was to make the pocket, I faced the pieces right sides together, sewed leaving the bottom part open to turn over, pinned in the center of the flannel (front) and joined with straight stitch, I used double stitching for a better finish and reinforcement.
El siguiente paso fue hacer el bolsillo, enfrenté las piezas por el derecho, cosí dejando la parte de abajo abierta para voltear, sujeté con alfileres en el centro de la franela (parte delantera) y uní con puntada recta, usé doble costura para un mejor acabado y refuerzo.
On the sleeves I added a stripe of athletic fabric to complete the length and also make a different design, then another navy blue stripe and so I got the full length of the sleeves.
En las manga agregué una franja de tela atlética para completar el largo y también hacer un diseño diferente, luego otra franja azul marino y así obtuve el largo completo de la mangas.
I sewed the sash and cuffs on the reverse side facing the ends, then turned and zig zag stitched along the edge.

To make the hood, I faced both pieces and sewed along the curved part, I usually put lining in the hoods, but I didn't have enough fabric so I glued a royal blue bias binding in the middle seam to cover the joining of the fabrics and also to embellish the hood, I also put bias binding in the front and I liked the result, it combines very well and gives a great style to the sweater.
Para hacer la capucha, enfrenté ambas piezas y cosí por la parte curva, regularmente le pongo forro a las capuchas , pero no tenía suficiente tela y pegué un sesgo azul rey en la costura del medio para tapar la unión de las telas y también adornar la capucha, puse también sesgo en la parte delantera y me gustó el resultado combina muy bien y le da un gran estilo al suéter.
Once the sweater pieces were assembled, I glued the sleeves right sides together, sewed with a straight stitch, closed the sides and reinforced all the seams with zig zag stitch.
Armadas las piezas del suéter pegué las mangas enfrenando derecho derecho, cosí con puntada recta, cerré también los laterales y reforcé todas las costuras con zig zag.
Then I sewed the cuffs and the sash facing right sides together, finally I pinned the hood, taking care that the union was centered, sewed with a straight stitch, reinforced with zig zag stitch and the sweater is finished.
Luego cosí los puños y el fajón enfrentando derecho con derecho, finalmente sujeté la capucha con alfileres, cuidando que la unión quedé centrada, cosí con puntada recta, reforcé con zig zag y así está terminado el suéter.
I really liked the design of the sweater I think if I had planned it the result would be different, as I combined the fabrics to assemble each piece the design was emerging and as I progressed I felt happy for the shape it was taking, I felt a little anxious to finish but I take it easy, to avoid mistakes because of the rush, to model this design I used a very cute stuffed animal that wears glasses to protect his eyes from the sun, while his arms and hair are safe with the sweater. My son is very excited about his new sweater waiting for the moment to wear it.
Realmente me gustó el diseño del suéter creo que si lo hubiese planificado el resultado sería otro, al combinar las telas para armar cada pieza el diseño fue surgiendo y a medida que avanzaba me sentía feliz por la forma que iba tomando, me sentía un poco ansiosa por terminar pero me lo tomo con calma, para evitar errores por la prisa, para modelar este diseño usé un peluche muy guapo que usa lentes para proteger sus ojos del sol, mientras sus brazos y cabello están a salvo con el suéter. Mi hijo está muy emocionado con su nuevo suéter esperando el momento para usarlo.
