I don't know which wise guy came up with the phrase cut your coat to your size but my gut tells me it was probably directed to someone that's always in debt for things he/she couldn't naturally afford. Lord knows I'd like to live the luxury lifestyle like the next man but if it comes at a moral cost or worst of all, means I get to live in debt, is it really worth it?
We're living in a planet that's balanced on a knife edge, every day we go about our daily lives, hoping it tips in the direction that favours us. There will always be winners and losers; some have more than others and whether you like it or not, sometimes you'd be on the wrong end . Being content is important but even more important is moving on to make the best of your situation.
I have struggled to keep up with most of my financial demands but this is mainly due to unemployment and the low prices of Steem, which is currently my main source of income. This has led me to leading a lifesyle that's commisurate with my meagre income and while it is boring, it's going to be beneficial in the long run.
Being at your lowest could either bring out the best or worst in you. Various factors influence your decision and even though the end justifies the means, one has to be completely honest with his situation.

The changes I made drastically affected the quality and quantity my diet, fashion choice, definition of fun and made me very frugal. This mindset ensures that everything I get is everything I need but then there's aesthetic appeal that my life lacks and even I can see it blatantly.
Life deals us different hands and what you consider luxury, is someone else's basic, and your basic, also someone else's luxury.
The emphasis on needs means everyting else becomes secondary and as you know, that could make Jack a very dull boy. I've had to consciously make myself live a little, and after those events I come back kicking myself for spending out of my tight budget then again, I actually enjoy myself while splurging so they cancel out.
I have dreams bigger than the ocean and castles to build in the sky but I live on Earth, so I have to be realistic. I want all the things I can't afford and I'm striving to get them but until then, I'll be honest to the one person that deserves the truth, MYSELF.
