Greetings!
In this life, everyone of us must try and develop themselves in not what we learn alone from the four walls of our classrooms, but in any other way in which we can get ourselves developed. In my three decades of being in existence, I have seen people doing what they were not taught at all. It's not as if they even have passion for what they can do, but didn't learn, but because of their natural potential which God has deposited in them.
Some of those people that I have seen doing such a thing can be said to be more professional that the so called professionals who have spent years learning and even making researches on that thing they claim to know., anyways, such is life as natural ability can never be compared to what is being taught by our fellow humans.
Having said so much about the natural deposit in the terms of potentials being deposited in the individuals, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive learners community which is all about, “Do it yourself.”
One thing that I know I can do without being a learner is carpentry work, not only that, I can also repair home gadgets, most especially, generating sets. Before now, I did really know that I have the capacity to do all these things, however, on a particular night when I was in dare need of light, I called on my generator mechanic and he told me he was not in town and it's late at night and things would have been better had it been I have another person who can help me repair the generator sets.
And just as I was trying to look for a way out, my mind told me that it's what I can do and I summoned courage and started loosing the bolt and nuts and before we know it, there was light and it was surprising to everyone around and that was the end of me calling on my generator mechanic and ever since then, I can repair any generator fault by myself. There's even a time that I sent to see my generator mechanic and on getting to his workshop, he was battling with a generating set fault and when he did as I directed him, he was able to get where the fault was from and he repaired it with ease and he said,
“I now see why you are no longer coming here to repair your generator again.”
Another thing that I can do conveniently is that of carpentry work. This I do by making cages for my pets and whenever people see me doing this, they used to ask me if I had learnt it from a professional, but I used to tell them that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.
With these two things that I can do by myself, I have been able to make more money for myself and my family, but I'm not using it for commercial purpose but to help those around me.
