Is there truly a secret?
I don't think there's a secret to a long and happy life at all, I bought the book because I believe that living a happy and fulfilled life is something we can all move closer to and one of the ways I help myself do that is to learn more about it; in a world where almost every bit of information is available it's difficult to imagine there's many secrets at all.

I heard about this book through friends but only just bought it because it was on sale.
It's not that I didn't want to improve my life, just that I feel I had a good understanding of how to live a happy and meaningful one which has been gained organically through trial and error, self and life reflection, through reading, talking and planning with my lovely man, and in other ways.
We actively work towards that happy-life-goal in many ways be it through togetherness, having close friends and family, traveling, gardening, music and art, simplicity, the practice of stillness, loving and spending time with nature, focusing on the truly important things rather than the noise and valueless distractions and in many other ways too...but just because something is going well it doesn't mean it can't be improved, so I bought this book.
I've not started it just yet but I know it's based around the Japanese concept of Ikiagai which is about bringing joy and happiness to life, pursuing passions and finding a solid sense of purpose and I'm interested to read the book and measure myself, thoughts and understandings, around the concepts to see how and where I may improve and find an even more joyful and meaningful life.
No secret formula is responsible for the life I've created. I've just had the right thoughts and taken the right actions more often than I have not; it's not a perfect life and never will be and I accept that as long as I find happiness, joy and am fully engaged...I do and I am
