There are people who assume that people or a person they just met behaves a particular way, they just have this perspective or picture of them in their mind, without actually getting to know the person.
It's like meeting someone for the first time, and the person shows you a side of them depending on the situation surrounding your meeting or what you discussed about.. and then you hastily draw a conclusion on their kind of person, without proper knowledge of them.
So, this perception you have of them becomes the yardstick in which you measure their character. You think to yourself: this person is not supposed to do this, talk this way, walk this way, act this way, and so on. And then, when you eventually get to see this person doing or acting differently from what you had already built up in your mind concerning them, you tend to feel disappointed, irritated, or judgemental about their character.
You have forgotten that you were the one who had this perspective or painted a particular picture of them in your mind, that they didn't in any way told you they were like that or you didn't even bother to get to know them for who they truly are. No, you just had your own label, a tag on them, and assumed they're just like that.
And then, they're other people who are so audacious, they won't even stop at painting a picture of you in their mind, they also say it to your face, so confidently like they've known you all their life..like they're so sure of themselves. Sometimes leaves me speechless.
Okay, the third category of people, are the ones who sit back, think to themselves, imagine, draw up a template, and plan how a particular person should live their lives, and that they shouldn't live or go beyond what they've figured out in their head.
Then, eventually, incidentally, deliberately, consciously or unconsciously, the person starts living their lives and just being themselves, then you'll hear this person who was busy planning another person's life, tagging them: rude, nonchalant, and the likes, because they already had a framed up template for how this other person should behave, talk, walk, and act...
It would take some level of experience for you to relate or for this post to resonate with you.
These things are very common in our society, and the level at which people assume things is really disturbing.
I feel like if people can just be patient enough to get to know people before drawing conclusion or coming to a resolution about someone, it will help curb misunderstandings, unnecessary chaos amongst friends, people, groups, community, and society as a whole.
Assumption should be ruled out, completely from our level of knowledge of a person or thing. It is said that "assumption is the lowest form of knowledge." I suggest that it shouldn't be considered at all when it comes to human relationships and other serious matters. Let's always go all out for the fact, get our information right before acting upon them.
