I remember a few years ago joining ELLO in the hopes that I had found an alternative social media community, one that would truly thrive.
I ended up getting quoted by Vogue Magazine regarding my thoughts on the platform. They were a pun on a Pink Floyd lyric. You can probably guess the rest.
Now I try again to get off Facebook, off Twitter onto something new.
Right now I am listening to Patten's "Estoile Naiant" and it is giving me a sense of yet another new beginning.
My hope for Steemit is that it creates a viable alternative to a lot of the 'advertising based' social media that throws adds at people, gives them nothing for content, and then also sells their information quite quickly.
Of course I am fine with the sale of my information. It is part of interaction with people at this point. All my information is sold and I have grown accustomed to the practice.
