Looking for fruit Matoa on the weekends

Hi everyone. On this weekend morning, I did the same as my usual days. weekends are the best days to wake up late to gather all my strength before doing all the homework. After waking up around nine in the morning, I started to make the bed, clean my room, wash dirty clothes, wash dirty dishes to clean the beds of my little cats. Yep I do it every day and it only finishes until 12 noon and it's very tiring.

In the afternoon I took the matoa fruit that was around my campus with some of my friends. On the previous Thursday, we also took some, but on this Sunday we took more because on weekends usually there are only a few people at the campus so we can focus on picking up the matoa fruit. There are many matoa trees planted around the campus, more precisely matoa trees are planted around the campus area and anyone can pick them up.

Actually, I'm not too familiar with this fruit, I just knew this fruit for the last few years. In recent years in my hometown, there has been no such thing as matoa fruit until the last few years matoa has begun to spread and many have planted it in the yard of the house.

Little do I know that this matoa fruit is a unique fruit originating from Papua, Indonesia, and has now spread to the island of Sumatra. Matoa has a chewy fruit texture that is runny like rambutan but has a taste that is difficult to describe. Like a mixture of several fruits such as lychee with a little durian flavor, rambutan fruit and some are like a mixture of longan. The redder or ripe the fruit is, the more flavorful it will taste.

We started picking fruit around four in the afternoon until half-past six. It's a little difficult to pick the fruit because the matoa fruit is at the top and covered in lush leaves. I was planning to climb the tree but there were lots of ants on the leaves. So we took them using poles.

Actually, there are still many trees bearing fruit, but only the backside has trees that are not too tall, so it will be easier to pick.

The initial intention was only to take the matoa, but one of my friends found an old cassava trunk and tried to pull it out. These cassava stems thrive among the bushes at the ends of fields. Only a few trees but they got so much cassava. There may be about 5 to 6 kilograms of cassava obtained. The plan is that the cassava will be fried and eaten together on Tuesday.

After finishing taking the matoa fruit and pulling out the cassava, we went back to our homes and shared the results of the matoa fruit that we got. Haha, at first just wanted to take matoa but when we got home we brought lots of cassava. This is a fun thing for boarding house people because we really like free stuff without having to buy it.
