I heard writing about love is cliché,
Sadly, thats all I can talk about,
I dont know why I am a bit emotional today,
It must be the weather
Or maybe it's you and your front row tickets to my sold out heart.
Before I met you, I was a fraud, an imposter who was pretending to be me.
I didn't know what to do with emotions,
but I played along because no one could understand that I had forgotten what it meant to feel anything except pain.
So I lied and I acted,
Like I knew what I was doing, like I was really living.
People loved me,
but they didn't understand that sin had broken me into atomic pieces that could never be pieced back.
I was worse than a broken record, you could say I was insane.
I tried to love them back, believe me, I really did,
but it was as futile as trying to see God without truth.
You blew me away like a hurricane and your love was like a tsunami,
I couldn't run from it.
I have never felt or seen anything as pure as your love for me,
So whole,so beautiful,
Like thunder coated with honey.
So truth, teach me to love again,
Let me rise from the smoldering embers of hate and into the doxa of agape.
