Well, it has certainly been a LONG time since I've written a post!
To be honest, I wasn't even aware of the changes until a friend told me why I was having trouble logging in earlier this year. And now the year is almost up and I am JUST getting to a post.
I can't really say I'm introducing myself, as I technically signed up for Steemit years ago! But I AM confident in saying I'm a different person.
Originally this account was started for me to chronicle my journey with my 1967 Barracuda restoration project. A project I struggled with for 8 years!
My patience wore too thin when I couldn't get the brake calipers for the front drum-to-disc conversion to STOP LEAKING! No matter what or how hard I tried...DRIP DRIP DRIP!
And...it needed a new engine!!!
So, I called on a car friend to see if he had any leads on anyone who may be interested in buying this car in it's 'as is' non-running state. I was able to sell it within a couple days. The guy looked at it in the morning, offered me about half of what I asked for (I was aiming high). He left me to think about it, I called with a counter and he was here within the hour that same day with a check for basically what I put into it (parts-wise...not blood, sweat or tears. So many tears!).
It was raining, which matched my mood that day. Bittersweet to see it go, since I truly hoped I could get dad's car running again. But I was proud of myself for letting go, after so many years.
So fast-forward to a year after the sale.
Here I am back to blogging and OH SO MANY new hobbies!
Get ready for some adventures in baking (I am a lazy baker who likes the idea of fancy pastries but not so much the precision they require).
I've started hand lettering and picked up pointed pen calligraphy again. For real this time.
My embroidery things have been dusted off and new pretty threads are in the mix.
During the virtual learning boom of this pandemic I have learned some basic watercolor techniques and have loads of other things I want to try!
My journey back into a crafty life has even given me a whole new time management style (I resisted Bullet Journaling way too long!).
OH! And I've taken 3 trips to Iceland that I'd love to share in the near future as well.
So there's plenty to catch up on!
I can't wait to get back into the swing of reading all of your posts as well! I'm sure I've missed so much!!
