Life wasn't supposed to be that hard for Josie. She had always followed the rules set by her parents at all times, never doubting them. And that became her doom. Her act of saying "Yes" to their words is as if she is a robot programmed to but not anymore. Not anymore was she going to take their sides.
Some months back, Josie realized what became shocking news to her. She had heard their whispers. Those vile words but she wasn't sure until she started doing research and found out the truth.
The truth they say, "Sets you free" but in Josie's case. The truth almost cost her her life. She was so scared and felt lost and in pain.
How painful it is to know that the people who she regarded as parents weren't her parents. It was scary at first when she started doing the research and what she found pulled the strings of hurt in her heart. Her life was never meant to be the way it is if those who claimed to be her parents hadn't murdered her real parents and covered up their tracks.
All their actions and words which she thought were endearing now seem wrong. She had no friends because she never went out, instead, she trained. She was homeschooled and never allowed to watch Tv and Josie stuck to their words to a Tee until she heard them that night.
It turns out her fake Mom and Dad were trying to turn her into a killer like them. All her training all these years was to get her ready to assassinate people.
She had heard them laugh saying;
"How great it is she will be working for those who killed her parents. Before she founds out who we are, it is going to take time and she would be too deep in the game to let out".
And they had a laugh adding that...
"Look at her, she is as gullible as her parents. She is indeed their daughter. Though they did unknowingly help us in their car when we got stranded after our mission. But they just had to continue running their mouths trying to know how we got stranded and it was getting too much. They caused their death. They should be glad we never killed their baby".
Josie thought she was dreaming when she heard this so she took her blood and her Mother's hair to perform a DNA scan since they had lots of equipment available to them in the house.
Days later, she was scared to read the result that had been with her, but when she finally did, she realized she wasn't their daughter. Her world seems to turn upside down. She began to question everything and they were quick to know she knew something they had apprehended and kept her in a dark room for days.
Those days she was all alone were plain misery. All sorts of thoughts reigned in her heart but there was one which surpassed all. Her cry for revenge and so she had trained harder.
Some days later, they came to check on her and she had caught them off balance fighting her way through the front door before locking them in.
Rushing to the kitchen, Josie got a sack and packed some food and some money before she opened the gas she set a timer with the microwave.
She ran directly to the garage and took off the big white bus found there. She could hear muffled sounds of footsteps and as she zoomed off not quite far, the house caught fire and she made sure she watched them burn.
The bus she took became her home and she drove it everywhere and may decide to stay in one place for weeks or months before she leaves for another place. And she always made sure to put on the light because the dark scares her.
A picture is worth more than a thousand words and the aforementioned words were what it spoke to me.
What Can I See?
I see a big white bus with lights emitting from it. There are stars up and a fence to the end.
What Do I feel?
I feel a sense of safety and am glad that I can see the stars as they are so beautiful it warms my heart.
Still yours truly,
Balikis.
