As with most people recently, I've been thinking a lot about what comes after AI.
By after, I mean, the point where machine intelligence takes over most things, what comes then?
In this case, what becomes of people? What roles do they need to play to positively contribute to the world?
Whether people want to hear it or not, what contributions a person can make to advance or sustain society is the measure of his or her value.
In a future where artificial intelligence does pretty much everything humans used to do, at a much cheaper and higher output rate, how can humans remain valuable contributors?
Let's not forget that those contributions are generally how one makes a living, a structure that's kept the world to a limited conflict level.
But a enough of throwing many words around, shying away from being plain: when jobs are gone, what then?
I don't really have the picture fully mapped out but I think being a creator is what's left.
Every time I think about it, all roads lead to being a creator in some level or capacity.
Surely, there will be multiple AI creators but the creator economy will always be able to accommodate more, after all, algorithms will filter by interest and most of the low-value contributing crowd will be lost in the feed.
If you think about the fact that content creation in itself creates data, which AI needs, it also makes sense that after everything else, that could be what's left because they'll always be an original thought that can turn into something great for the world.
