Everyone strives for perfection. The perfect job, the perfect body, the one for them, the perfect car, the perfect life. But what exactly is perfection?

I've always been somewhat of a perfectionist. Every single time I do something I want it to be perfect. I don't care whether it's my first time or I've been doing it for a while. It just has to be perfect. I spend so much extra time, fine tuning and trying extra hard to make it perfect. But no matter how hard I try it can't be , and it always hurts when I look at it and it's not what I had in my head. Or When things don't go as I envisioned, it irks me. I can't count the number of times I've spent much more time on things that shouldn't be taking so much time just because I want it to be perfect only for it to still not be perfect in my eyes.

Is perfection a myth? What exactly is perfection?

No one knows. It is just this thing that everyone seems to be trying to achieve. But then, there's no set line for perfection, so what even is it?

Over time I have come to realize that the term perfect is subjective and what I think is imperfect could actually be perfect in the eyes of others, while what I think is perfect could be imperfect in the eyes of others.

I have stopped trying to always be perfect, now I just try to always be the best version of myself that I can be. I am human and humans aren't perfect. We make mistakes and that's part of what makes us human. Can mistakes be perfect? I don't know.

I laid in bed tonight and I looked back on how the day went, and I realized it was nowhere near perfect. There are a lot of things I said I'd do from the start and I wasn't able to do them. I tried, but things happened and before I knew it the day was long gone.

A wise lady once told me,

No one said everyday will be perfect. As long as we keep showing up no matter what. That's all that matters.

With this in mind I've penned down all the things I need to do tomorrow and told myself I am going to get them done no matter what.

I am human after all and humans make mistakes. I'm not perfect. I keep telling myself, but the inner critic in me won't let me rest. I just need to keep him quiet and get some rest, tomorrow will be a busy day, wish me luck 馃馃従
