This outfit may not look like much, but to my people it is everything. It is the dress of my people, the dress of my religion, the dress of our history. It takes a lot of guts, a lot of heart, a lot of pride to wear this out in public of a western city.
I have traded in my Jordans, for this traditional dress. But I have gained a sense of who I am, and what I believe.
