A Change in the right direction

A step toward the right path, is a step towards change.
I have been an ardent supporter and lover of Appetite For Change for years and I am now honored to join the AFC Board of Directors to do my part in helping the organization to continue serving the community.
My journey has been one of defying odds and breaking down barriers. Who would have thought that the skinny, scared, angry teen that I was who was sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison as a teen would be serving on a Board, or working to get a dynamic woman elected mayor in Minneapolis, or speaking at colleges and universities, or giving community leadership trainings to youth, or violence interruption training to peers, or being a fellow in a distinguished leadership forum, or creating a consulting company, lawn care service, co-founder of a cleanup initiative, etc etc.
Blessings on top of blessings. And through it all two guiding principles resound:
Work Hard and Stay Humble.
