I, like many young Americans have felt like a failure in life at a certain time of my life.
Coming here as a Refugee teen I felt like I owed my parents to become the AMERICAN DREAM. I was putting so much pressure on in my late teens that I started using Drugs and alcohol to cope.

It was a blessing that I had found a collective of helping adults who had been through similar situations as I.
These helpful people were muslim, as i was, they were refugees as i was, they had seen the same struggles and pain that I had witnessed as a child.
It took me a long time to realize that, no matter what I do I AM NOT A FAILURE! As long as I enjoy what it is I am doing and make friends as I do it.

This is why I volunteer and donate to the Young Muslim Coalition, to help young confused muslim teens, like I once was.

insha'Allah
