Olivia Rodrigo Takes the Stage with “Vampire” and “All-American Bitch” on Saturday Night Live
In the most recent Saturday Night Live episode, Olivia Rodrigo, Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter, took on the role of musical guest. Accompanied by host Adam Driver, Rodrigo showcased her musical prowess with two performances from her acclaimed album, Guts.
The first performance featured a stripped-down rendition of “Vampire,” with Rodrigo skillfully accompanying herself on the piano. Following this, she transitioned to a captivating rendition of “All-American Bitch,” transforming the Studio 8H stage into a tea party setting. Rodrigo's stage presence was undeniable as she energetically hopped on the table and emphatically stomped on cakes, adding a dynamic element to the performance.
This marks Rodrigo's second appearance on SNL, her first being in May 2021, where she delivered memorable performances of Sour tracks "Drivers License" and "Good 4 U." In addition to her musical contributions, Rodrigo took part in the evening's sketch, "Tiny Ass Bag," portraying the tiny bag enthusiast Georgina with a distinct accent.
With her sophomore album, Guts, released in September, Rodrigo is set to embark on a world tour in February 2024. The tour will feature supporting acts such as Chappell Roan, PinkPantheress, Remi Wolf, and the Breeders.
As Saturday Night Live continues its star-studded lineup, fans can anticipate Billie Eilish's upcoming appearance in the next episode, accompanied by host and former cast member Kate McKinnon. The diverse musical performances this season have solidified SNL's reputation as a platform for top-tier talent.
