Lately, I’ve been posting a lot about cats, I adore them and have two at home who are my darlings and my inspiration. But it’s not just that I enjoy learning about them and sharing what I’ve learnt about these wonderful felines; I also love incorporating them into my designs in all sorts of ways.
They represent mystery, a connection to different planes of existence, and protectors of humankind. They see things we cannot see; they have highly developed senses, such as night vision, but I also believe they can see entities. They have been revered in many cultures, and I believe those cultures had their reasons and understood the wisdom of cats. I’ve had a strong connection with them ever since I was born. But butterflies have also been a constant presence in my life; they represent simplicity, change and transformation, and for some, they are spirits that greet us, they are just as mysterious as cats.
Today I simply looked for images that appealed to me and combined them into a collage where they all take centre stage. I like the idea of combining textures, as if they were old pieces of paper, with various images without backgrounds, adding blends and filters that intertwine.

En el último tiempo he estado haciendo muchas publicaciones sobre gatos, los adoro y tengo dos en casa que son mis amores e inspiración. Pero no sólo me gusta aprender sobre ello y de ellos, hablar sobre lo que he aprendido acerca de estos maravillosos felinos, sino que me encanta que se encuentren en mis diseños, de las maneras más variadas.
Ellos representan misterio, conexión con planos diversos y protectores de los seres humanos. Ven cosas que nosotros no vemos, tienen los sentidos más desarrollados como la vista por la noche, pero también creo que pueden ver entidades. Han sido sagrados en muchas culturas y creo que esas culturas tenían sus razones y conocían la sabiduría de los gatos. Mi conexión con ellos fue grande desde que nací. Pero también han estado presentes en mi vida las mariposas, que representan la sencilles, el cambio, la transmutación y para algunos espíritus que saludan, son igualmente misteriosas como los gatos.
Hoy simplemente busqué imágenes que me atrajeran y las combiné en un collage donde todos ellos son protagonistas. Me gusta la idea de combinar texturas como si fueran papeles viejos, con diversas imágenes sin fondo agregando fusiones y filtros que se entrelacen.

Design process
The design was created entirely in Photoshop CS6 without the use of AI, using 11 royalty free images spread across 15 layers.
Firstly, I created a layer with a two colour gradient, onto which I placed an image with a soft-light texture to blend it with the gradient. On top of this, I placed three images that I treated as old, marbled paper, in different positions and scales within the design, in normal mode.
On top of the marbled paper, I placed the black-and-white image of the cat using the ‘Spot Light’ blend mode and the ‘Added Edge’ filter, followed by one of the images featuring pink flowers using the ‘Darken’ blend mode. I then split the image showing two leaves in half and placed the two halves on top of the previous elements in ‘Normal’ blend mode. On top of one of these, I placed the image of the woman using the ‘Darken’ blend mode and an added edge filter; and on top of the other, the Siamese cat in two layers using the ‘Overlay’ and ‘Spot Light’ blend modes, along with the same filter as before.
With the cat, I combined the blue flowers using the ‘Darken’ blend mode; and with the woman, I combined the green leaves using the same blend mode and the filter used previously.

Proceso del diseño
El diseño está realizado completamente en el programa Photoshop CS6 sin uso de IA con 11 imágenes sin derechos de autor distribuidas en 15 capas.
En primera instancia cree una capa con un degradado de dos colores sobre la que dispuse una imagen con una textura con luz suave para entremezclarla con el degradado. Sobre esto dispuse tres imágenes que consideré como papeles viejos y marmolados, en distintas posiciones y escalas dentro del diseño, en modo normal.
Sobre el papel del pedio puse la imagen en blanco y negro del gato con fusión de luz focal y filtro de bordes añadidos y luego una de las imágenes con flores rosadas con fusión de oscurecer. Luego con la imagen que tiene dos hojas la dividí a la mitad y las dispuse sobre lo anterior en modo normal. Sobre una de ellas dispuse la imagen de la mujer con la fusión de oscurecer y filtro de bordes añadidos y sobre la otra el gato siamés en dos capas con fusiones de superponer y luz focal y el mismo filtro que antes.
Con el gato combiné las flores azules con la fusión de oscurecer y con la mujer las hojas verdes con la misma fusión y el filtro antes usado.
