Los padres tenemos en nuestras manos la gran responsabilidad de conducir a nuestros hijos por el camino del bien y la senda del saber, así que para esto debemos enfocarnos en su educación (que comienza en el hogar) y en su preparación académica hasta que alcancen la meta de obtener un título universitario y, con orgullo, verlos con toga y birrete. Escoger el colegio en el cual nuestros hijos comenzaran el aprendizaje y desarrollarán sus competencias y habilidades es un compromiso serio, pues debemos tomar en cuenta muchos factores, entre ellos, y el más importante, la calidad de la educación que ofrecen estos colegios.

Cuando llegó este momento en nuestra vida de papás, ya teníamos decidido el colegio para nuestra hija. Era el colegio en el cual yo tenía varios años trabajando y por su trayectoria y reputación era el mejor de la ciudad.

Además, ofrecía la mejor infraestructura para albergar a los niños. Era un lugar seguro y siempre estaba limpio, como se dice, una tacita de plata. Contaba con todos los recursos indispensables para llevar a cabo el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje, yo misma podía certificarlo. Así que era el mejor colegio para Sofía. Debo contarles que al principio, me resultó una tarea ardua hacerle entender a ella, que apenas comenzaba a salir de casa para socializar con muchos niños, que las dos estábamos en el mismo lugar, pero que no podíamos estar juntas. Entonces, como familia nos tocó aplicar la estrategia del transporte escolar para que ella llegara, por su lado, junto con otros niños y yo llegaba al colegio después. Bastaron tres meses de transporte para que luego Sofía y yo pudiéramos llegar juntas al colegio y ella se soltara en su ambiente, sin pensar en mí ;)

As parents we have in our hands the great responsibility to lead our children on the path of good and the path of knowledge, so we must focus on their education (which begins at home) and their academic preparation until they reach the goal of obtaining a college degree and, with pride, see them with cap and gown. Choosing the school in which our children will begin learning and develop their skills and abilities is a serious commitment because we must take into account many factors, among them, and the most important, the quality of education offered by these schools.

When this moment came in our life as parents, we had already decided on the school for our daughter. It was the school in which I had been working for several years and because of its trajectory and reputation, it was the best in the city.

In addition, it offered the best infrastructure to accommodate the children. It was a safe place and it was always clean, as they say, a silver cup. It had all the indispensable resources to carry out the teaching and learning process, I could certify it myself. So it was the best school for Sofia. I must tell you that at the beginning, it was a hard task to make her understand that we were both in the same place, but that we could not be together, since she was just starting to leave home to socialize with many children. So, as a family, we had to apply the strategy of school transportation so that she would arrive, on her own, with other children and I would arrive at school afterward. It only took three months of transportation for Sofia and me to arrive at school together and for her to let herself go in her own environment, without thinking about me ;)

El colegio en cual yo trabajaba y en el que inscribimos a Sofía para que iniciara su etapa de aprendizaje era un colegio católico. Luego de mirar atrás y ver todo el camino recorrido, hoy pensamos que fue nuestra mejor elección, pues este colegio carmelitano, además de ser exigente con los docentes que cumplíamos la labor de enseñar y guiar a los niños por el camino de la excelencia académica, también se enfocaba en cultivar en los estudiantes, los valores primordiales para el crecimiento como seres humanos íntegros, y en inculcar los valores colectivos para la convivencia de toda la familia carmelitana.

Allí, Sofía creció y aprendió como en un hogar, pues fueron muchos años en esta institución donde cursó su preparación académica completa, desde la educación pre-escolar, básica y la media o bachillerato. Toda su vida, y si se quiere desde que estaba en mi vientre, ya andaba por los pasillos de este hermoso y prestigioso colegio que la cobijó y la educó, siempre de nuestra mano con valores y principios muy arraigados.

The school where I worked and where we enrolled Sofia to start her learning stage was a Catholic school. After looking back and seeing all the way we have come, today we think that it was our best choice, because this Carmelite school, besides being demanding with the teachers who fulfilled the task of teaching and guiding the children along the path of academic excellence, also focused on cultivating in the students, the fundamental values for the growth as integral human beings, and inculcating the collective values for the coexistence of the whole Carmelite family.

There, Sofia grew up and learned as if she were at home since she spent many years in this institution where she completed her entire academic preparation, from pre-school, elementary, and high school. All her life, and if you will since she was in my womb, she was already walking the halls of this beautiful and prestigious school that sheltered and educated her, always from our hands with values and principles deeply rooted.
