A few days ago, a friend of my daughter's who is Colombian but lives in the Czech Republic came to visit Bogot谩. The reunion was warm and very special. Between conversations, laughter, and the inevitable exchange of stories from here and there, she left us a delightful gift: a typical Czech sweet, which represents a little piece of the place where she now lives. A gesture full of affection and flavor.
This is a classic European dessert, and from the first bite I knew it wasn't just any cookie. It's a thin, delicate, crispy wafer-type cookie without being hard, with layers so subtle that they break gently with each bite. The chocolate filling is generous, enveloping, and not cloying. And the triangular shape makes it visually beautiful and perfect to enjoy.
As I ate it, I couldn't help but think about everything it represents: a little piece of another country, another culture, another pace of life that comes thanks to a simple, affectionate gesture from a beautiful friendship.
There are definitely flavors that enchant and linger on the palate and in the memory.馃崼

Hace unos d铆as, una amiga de mi hija que es colombiana, pero vive en la Rep煤blica Checa vino de visita a Bogot谩. El reencuentro fue c谩lido y muy especial. Entre conversaciones, risas y el inevitable intercambio de historias de all谩 y de ac谩, nos dej贸 un detalle delicioso: una golosina t铆pica checa, que significa un pedacito del lugar donde ahora vive. Un gesto lleno de cari帽o, y sabor.
Este es un postre cl谩sico europeo, y desde el primer bocado supe que no era cualquier galleta. Es una galleta tipo barquillo fino, delicado, crujiente sin ser duro, con capas tan sutiles que se rompen suavemente en cada mordisco. El relleno de chocolate es generoso, envolvente y no empalaga. Y la forma triangular la hace visualmente hermosa y perfecta para disfrutar.
Mientras la com铆a, no pude evitar pensar en todo lo que representa: un pedacito de otro pa铆s, otra cultura, otro ritmo de vida que llega gracias a un gesto sencillo y lleno de afecto de una bonita amistad.
Definitivamente, hay sabores que encantan y perduran en el paladar y en la memoria.馃崼
