My sister had a doctor’s appointment today. So I was bestowed with the honor of babysitting my niece.

Since my place isn’t child friendly she came fully equipped with her backpack and a plastic baby. The cats were fun for a while (5 min until they hid in their nooks)...

But then my niece demanded that her plastic baby (which has no name and doesn’t like clothes for no apparent reason) would like to watch Maša and the bear. I figured that would be just fine while I cook. Since she doesn’t eat any “whites” (sugar, flour, and dairy) I had to pull out the special, bio, healthy, super-duper pasta and make up a sauce to go with it.

Of course for the meal itself I was informed that the baby won’t eat sauce and would prefer the pasta just dry.

Then there was the issue with the utensils. Seems my kitchen is not children adapt either. The plastic baby wanted a small fork which I don’t have. We tried the big fork, we tried the big spoon, the small spoon and ended up eating with hands. After the meal we washed up (yes the plastic baby too) and then I got informed that the baby is tired. Of course that meant another set of blankets and pillows. What followed is another 10 min of hard life changing decisions if the baby could sleep on its own or if it should rather sleep with my niece.

The baby also had to pee and in a sequence of 15 min had to check if the cats are still hiding.

I had no idea plastic babies were so demanding. No wonder I played with Legos.
