Good morning! My lovely wife asked me earlier what we wanted to eat. it was either left over steamed buns, or some fried rice for breakfast. I decided on the latter.
I tried making fried rice before for breakfast before I went to work, but without her magic I had to figure it out myself. Mine felt more like a mix anything all at once assortment instead of a steady progression.
I watch her to do her magic by doing things one step at a time. She cut some green onions, then cracked open three jumbo sized eggs.
Prior to started she had a pot of Jasmine rice cooked up ahead of time. I recall it's best to used already cooked or leftover rice for fried rice.
Finally, my wife starts putting in the ingredients on to the iron pan. She started putting a little bit of oil to make sure the food would not stick. As it got hot enough to use, she poured the eggs to the hot pan and stirring them with a wooden spoon. With the wooden spoon, she scoops out the rice from the pot to the pan little at a time.
After scooping out the last amount of rice, she threw in some sesame seeds. Lastly, she put in the green onions for some flavor and coloring. My wife takes a small taste from the wooden spoon, and decided to add a little more salt for flavor.
As I let my breakfast cool down, I started typing up this post. I have a hard time waiting for food to cool down, and sometimes burn my mouth because of it. Few minutes later, the fried rice cooled down enough to eat while it was still warm. It was a little too salty, and my wife asked if it was too salty. I did not mind it, but she did regret adding the salt after doing the taste test.
Regardless, it was a yummy breakfast with plenty of carbs to keep me energetic through the day, and a little protein and some fat from the eggs. Perfect if you ask me.
Have a nice day!
