Here’s my entry for the Cosmic Creation.
Well, it’s actually my first time joining this contest. Seeing everyone doing their best creating awesome arts made me want to join this contest too. This round is about nature. I had some ideas how I should portrait this but there was this idea of drawing one of my favorite landscapes but since I’m a portrait artist I wanted to draw a girl too.
How the idea came to me: I love sea but the idea of traveling with ship freaks me out. It’s where I feel I’m helpless. We are all afraid of unknowns and on sea anything can happen.
I started my drawing with sketching a girl and drawing a ship on her head. I purposely drew her head in this angle so it seems the ship is sinking.
I covered her eyes with a bandage. It’s actually a symbol that how our fears blind us and overwhelmed by our fears we can’t even move or decide.
I chose her hair color as the color of the sea.
The background is how the sky looks like when a ship sinks. That’s how we see in movies and cartoons. It’s always dark, rainy and lightning strikes :D
I also drew octopus legs because it’s one of the most scary sea creatures under the sea.
