Welcome to this post where I’ll talk about how I created this illustration, what I focused on, its significance, and a few other things. I’m so glad you’re here reading about my experiences with this drawing—I hope you enjoy it.
What drawing did I make?
I really like to practice whenever I can, and every now and then I look for reference photos—mostly of faces—that I really like, and I start drawing them to practice. I try to add something that resembles me, my style, so people can tell it’s my work.
In this case, I drew a portrait of a girl with purple hair
How did I create this drawing?
I drew this in my sketchbook using mixed media: colored pencils, alcohol-based markers, and water-based markers. I did the entire drawing in color, except for the parts that aren’t—specifically, the hair, the background, the purple outfit, part of the earrings, and the glass, which were done with markers.
Why did I create this drawing?
I really liked the reference image because of its colors and the fact that the hair was curly—very different from how I usually draw, with straight or slightly wavy hair.
