This week I worked on a character I had never heard of, Eren Yeager. The thing is that my friend, Heder Cova is a fan of the manga series Attack on Titan and Eren is the main character of the series, his purpose is to take revenge on the monsters called Titans since one of them killed his mom when he was just a kid. I was able to read this information in Wikipedia, since I didn't know about this series. But it's good, because with crochet I also have to keep up to date with what's trending in the topic of TV series.

Está semana trabajé en un personaje del cual nunca había escuchado, Eren Yeager. El caso es que mi amigo, Heder Cova es fan de la serie de manga Attack on Titan y Eren es el personaje principal de la serie, su propósito es vengarse de los monstruos llamados Titanes ya que uno de ellos acabó con su mamá cuando él apenas era un niño. Está información pude leerla en Wikipedia, ya que no sabía de esta serie. Pero es bueno, porque con el crochet también me toca ponerme al día con lo que es tendencia en el tema de series televisivas.

Now, with only the photo and the name of the character I decided to take my needles, because I wanted my friend to have his character as soon as possible. I have a special affection for Heder, he is one of the guitarists of the music group, and he is characterized by his friendliness, his cordiality and his gift of service, although in this photo he is not very noticeable. Heder, smile next time.

Ahora bien, con solo la foto y el nombre del personaje me dispuse a tomar mis agujas, pues quería que mi amigo tuviera su personaje cuánto antes. Le tengo un cariño especial a Heder, él es uno de los guitarristas del grupo de música, y lo caracteriza su simpatía, su cordialidad y su don de servicio, aunque en esta foto no se le note mucho. Heder, la próxima sonríe.

Knitting Eren Yeager, was quite relaxing. I love it when the work flows and no major obstacle presents itself. He is quite monochromatic and somber, and that was my biggest concern, but I reminded myself that it's not about my taste, it's about the character and I had to be true to the colors.

Tejer a Eren Yeager, fue bastante relajante. Me encanta cuando el trabajo fluye y no se presenta mayor obstáculo. Él es bastante monocromático y sombrío, y está fué mi mayor preocupación, pero me recordé a mi misma, que no se trata de mis gustos, sino del personaje y debía ser fiel a los colores.

I started with the diminutive shoes, in black color of course, and then I continued with the legs in skin color, white underwear and I started from the waist up with gray wool to make his sweatshirt. I continued up to the torso, just in the part where the union with the arms begins, the latter I did separately, in skin color the hands and gray wool the arms; by means of a slipped stitch I joined them to the rest of the body. I continued up to the shoulders, when I reached the neck I changed again to skin colored cotton yarn and worked the head.

Empecé con los diminutivos zapatos, en color negro desde luego, y luego seguí con las piernas en color piel, ropa interior blanca y empecé desde la cintura hacia arriba con lana gris para realizar su sudadera. Continué hasta el torso, justo en la parte donde empieza la unión con los brazos, estos últimos los hice aparte, en color piel las manos y lana gris los brazos; mediante un punto deslizado los uní al resto del cuerpo. Continué hasta los hombros, al llegar a la parte del cuello cambie nuevamente a hilo de algodón color piel y trabajé la cabeza.

I left the body to one side and continued with the pants with black cotton yarn. I made them a little wider at the boots so I could hem them, this was a knit and unknit job because the yarn doesn't stretch at all and I couldn't turn the hem of the pants.

Dejé el cuerpo a un lado y seguí con el pantalón con hilo de algodón color negro. Los hice un poquito más ancho en las botas para poder hacerle el dobladillo, esto fue trabajo de tejer y destejer porque el hilo no estira nada y no podía dar vuelta al ruedo del pantalón.

I worked the bag with a gray, almost black, it is a yarn very similar to the sewing thread but in three strands and it is delicious to work with because you feel that it knits by itself. I made it starting from a mini yoke, since it's the only design I know a little bit, it still doesn't fit perfectly. But it suits this character very well.

Trabajé el saco con un gris, casi negro, es un hilo muy parecido al de coser pero en tres hebras y es delicioso para trabajar pues sientes que se teje solo. La hice partiendo de un mini canesú, ya que es el único diseño que sé un poco, todavía no me queda perfecto. Pero le sienta muy bien a este personaje.
