Hi #NeedleworkMonday. I’m sharing this beautiful double-petaled sunflower 🌻 with you. I had some time to check my YouTube notifications and really liked this sunflower—it’ll be joining my mini collection. Here’s a breakdown of how I made it.

Step by step//Paso a paso
Materials//Materiales:
- Yellow and light brown cotton yarn.
- Crochet hook, size 2.5
ESPAÑOL
- Hilo de algodón amarillo y marrón claro.

ch: chain(s).
mp: half point.
mpa: half high point.
pad: double treble crochet.
pat: triple treble crochet.
aum: increases.
dism: decrease.
pa: high point.
pr: slipped stitch.

Process//Proceso:
Light brown.
- R1: Chain 10, turn to the first chain, slip stitch.
- R2: In that loop, work 16 single crochets, slip stitch.
Yellow.
- row 3: Insert yarn into the outer loop, 2 ch, hdc, dc, in the same space 1 ch, picot, dc, hdc in the next space, 2 ch, sl st, repeat sequence 7 times, sl st, 1 ch, turn.
- Row 4: Continue on the back side in the inner row, working 8 petals between the previous ones, following this sequence: 4 ch, hdc, dc, 1 ch, dc, hdc, 4 ch, sl st, repeat, sl st.

- v4: Seguir en la parte de atrás en la hilera interna 08 pétalos entre los anteriores, siguiendo esta secuencia 4 chs, pad, pat, 1 ch, pat, pad, 4 chs, pr, repetir, pr.

This sunflower looks like the ones in the seed mixes you buy for parrots. I once bought some to feed my son’s pet parrots and planted a few because I’ve always loved sunflowers 🌻. Although it’s hard to grow a plant from seed—it only produced one small flower very similar to the one I crocheted—it doesn’t last long. There’s also a very small wild variety that grows in the countryside.
I love this flower; I’ve crocheted several, and now my collection has one more. I’d love to have a garden full of sunflowers, but they die, so the crocheted ones last forever.

Esta flor de girasol se parece a las de las semillas que uno compra para los loros. Una vez compré para alimentar los loros que tiene mi hijo como mascotas y sembré varias porque siempre me ha gustado el girasol 🌻. Aunque es díficil obtener una planta solo una floreó una pequeña flor muy parecida a esta que tejí, pero no es permanente. También en el campo existe una silvestre muy pequeña.
Soy amante de esta flor, he tejido varias, ya la colección tiene otra más, quisiera tener un jardín lleno de girasoles, pero se mueren, entonces las tejidas permanecen en el tiempo.
