Happy Needlepoint Monday. Lately my weekends have been very active, between my son's weekend school activities, my music lessons and rehearsals and the two Sunday services held at the church where we gather with my family, my whole weekend goes by. However, on Sundays after lunch I usually take a long nap, but I can't help feeling guilty pleasure with a nap that sometimes goes on until the next day, so this Sunday I decided to take advantage of the time and finish this cover that I had wanted to do for a long time.

Últimamente mis fines de semana están muy activos, entre las actividades escolares de fin de semana de mi hijo, mis clases de música y los ensayos y los dos servicios dominicales que se hacen en la iglesia donde nos reunimos con mi familia, se me va todo el fin de semana. Sin embargo, los domingos después de almuerzo suelo hacer una siesta bastante larga, pero no puedo evitar sentir placer culposo con una siesta que a veces sigue hasta el día siguiente, por eso este domingo me propuse aprovechar el tiempo y terminar esta funda que hacía tiempo que quería hacer.

In the 4 months that have passed this school year, we have bought 2 boxes of colors, 4 erasers, 3 pencil sharpeners, we lost count of the pencils, and he has lost scarves, and water bottles that we can not quantify, that is why we no longer invest a lot of money in bottles and recycle the juice bottles, in case he loses them it does not hurt our pocket so much. However, I didn't really like the idea of recycled bottles because they are simple and unattractive, that's why I thought I could personalize the bottle or rather make a cover for it and maybe this way I wouldn't lose it so fast.

Les cuento algo, mi hijo Carlos tiene algo en lo que se parece mucho a mí, y es que se distrae con facilidad y pierde las cosas en el colegio. En los 4 meses que ha transcurrido de este año escolar, hemos comprado 2 cajas de colores, 4 borradores, 3 sacapuntas, perdimos la cuenta de los lápices, y ha perdido bufandas, y botellas para el agua que no podemos cuantificar, es por eso que ya no invertimos mucho dinero en botellas y reciclamos las de los jugos, por si las pierde no le duela tanto a nuestro bolsillo. Sin embargo, no me gustaba mucho la idea de las botellas recicladas porque son simples y sin ningún atractivo por eso me pensé que podía personalizar la botella o mejor dicho hacerle una funda y quizás de ésta forma no la perdería tan rápido.

Carlos is a fan of the Naruto series, and hence his love for foxes, so I decorated with a small crocheted fox. Here is a summary of the process. Realicé la base de la botella con un disco en aumentos múltiplos de 6 hasta llegar a 48 puntos y de allí subí 2,5 centímetros aproximadamente con vueltas de 48 puntos bajos.

Then I knitted chains of 5 chain stitches that I fixed with slipped stitches leaving 2 stitches of separation, when I completed the row I obtained 16 fixed chains. In the next row I raised 3 medium high stitches on each of the 16 chains to obtain 48 stitches on which to work the next row of chains. In this way I progressed interspersing rows of chains with rows of half double crochet stitches.

Luego tejí cadenas de 5 puntos cadena que fije con puntos deslizados dejando 2 puntos de separación, al completar la vuelta obtuve 16 cadenas fijas. En la siguiente vuelta levanté 3 puntos medio altos sobre cada uno de las 16 cadenas para obtener 48 puntos sobre los cuales trabajar la siguiente vuelta de cadenas. Así avancé intercalando vuelta de cadenas con vuelta de puntos medio altos.

When I reached the narrow part of the bottle I knit 9 rows of single crochet to make it a little tighter in that part and then continued with the previous pattern until I got close to the edge of the bottle.

Al llegar a la parte angosta de la botella tejí 9 vueltas de puntos bajos para que quedara un poco más ajustada en esa parte y luego continué con el patrón anterior hasta llegar cerca del borde de la botella.

I knitted a strap so that I could carry it over my shoulder, and I made the fox head for the decorative part, which consists of a disc of 30, then 2 rounds of the same amount of stitches and then the respective decreases to make it narrower and narrower and close it. This figure has no stuffing and is rather flattened. I made the ears with 6 stitches in magic ring, then 1 increase in stitch 3 and in stitch 6 and we advance in each row an increase in the same stitch of the previous row and in this way it takes the conical shape, when we reach the desired height we begin to make the decreases for the closing. I also stitched a few stitches on the edge with green macramé thread.

Tejí una correa para que pudiera cargarla sobre el hombro, y realicé la cabeza de zorro para la parte decorativa que consta de un disco de 30, luego 2 vueltas de la misma cantidad de puntos y luego las respectivas disminuciones para ir haciendo cada vez más angosto y cerrar. Esta figura no lleva relleno y es más bien aplanada. Las orejas las hice con 6 puntos en anillo mágico, luego 1 aumento en el punto 3 y en punto 6 y vamos avanzando en cada vuelta un aumento en el mismo punto de la vuelta anterior y de esta manera toma la forma cónica, al llegar a la altura deseada empezamos a realizar las disminuciones para el cierre. También le di unas puntadas en el borde con hilo macramé verde.
