The macrame technique is not only beautiful, but also versatile and very useful. Many things can be made, from decorative elements for the home to accessories and clothing. The basic concept is to tie knots with your hands using threads. The variety of yarns as well as knots is wide and requires training and lots of practice.

La técnica de macramé es, además de hermosa, y a técnica versátil y muy útil. Se pueden realizar muchísimas cosas, desde elementos decorativos para el hogar hasta accesorios y prendas de vestir. El concepto básico es realizar nudos con las manos utilizando hilos. La variedad de hilos, así como de nudos es amplia y se requiere de capacitación y mucha práctica.

When describing the macramé technique, you might think that I am an expert in the technique, well I have news for you, I am not, I am just an amateur and I just made some very basic knots, but I hope to dedicate a little more time to improve and continue advancing this beautiful technique. However, with all the limitations I take some risks to make some pieces such as this orange bracelet with half lark knot and 8 mm yellow murals. Al describir la técnica de macramé, podrían pensar que soy experta en la técnica, pues les tengo una noticia, no lo soy, solo soy aficionada y apenas realizó algunos nudos muy básicos, pero espero poder dedicar un poco más de tiempo para mejorar y seguir avanzando está linda técnica. Sin embargo, con todas las limitaciones tomo algunos riesgos para realizar algunas piezas como por ejemplo ésta pulsera color naranja con medio nudo alondra y murales de 8 milímetros en color amarillo. Veamos cómo realizarla y quedarán sorprendidos de lo fácil que es.

We will work with two central threads of 40 centimeters and a tie thread of approximately 2 meters. We start with 10 flat knots at 8 centimeters distance from one end, remember that this margin is to make the tie of the bracelet.

Trabajaremos con dos hilos centrales de 40 centímetros y un hilo de amarre de 2 metros aproximadamente. Empezamos con 10 nudos planos a 8 centímetros de distancia desde un extremo, recordemos que este margen es para hacer el amarre de la pulsera.

Now we separate a little bit the central threads and on the left side we make a turn from outside to inside with the tie thread around the left central thread. Ahora separamos un poco los hilos centrales y del lado izquierdo realizamos un giro de afuera hacia adentro con el hilo de amarre alrededor del hilo central izquierdo. Es como que fuésemos a realizar un nudo alondra pero en lugar de dar una segunda vuelta en sentido contrario, seguimos entorchando otras cuatro veces en la misma dirección hasta completar cinco vueltas.

We repeat the same procedure on the right side and we will have five turns on each side of the central threads. Now it is time to pass the central thread on the right in the opposite direction through the center of the Murano and the thread on the left goes to the right through the center of the same crystal.

Repetimos el mismo procedimiento del lado derecho y tendremos cinco giros de cada lado de los hilos centrales. Ahora corresponde pasar el hilo central de la derecha en sentido opuesto por el centro del Murano y el hilo de la izquierda va hacia la derecha por el centro del mismo cristal.

To complete this first link we continue making five knots in each central thread and we secure it with two flat knots on the central threads. We have ready the first link of the bracelet. This bracelet is composed of 5 links so we have four to do and everything is repetitive. We finish with 10 flat knots, just as we started the bracelet and for the closure we make a Franciscan knot.

Para completar este primer eslabón seguimos realizando cinco nudos en cada hilo central y lo aseguramos con dos nudos planos sobre los hilos centrales. Tenemos listo el primer eslabón de la pulsera. Está pulsera está compuesta de 5 eslabones así que nos quedan cuatro por hacer y todo es repetitivo. Rematamos con 10 nudos planos, tal como iniciamos la pulsera y para el cierre realizamos un nudo franciscano.
