There is this book named The Art of War by a man called Sun Tzu. According to Ancient History Encyclopedia, Sun Tzu is known as a Chinese military strategist, Taoist philosopher, and general in the 6th century BCE. I will talk about the book he wrote and what we can learn from his teachings.

The Art of War Written By Sun Tzu

Here is some background information on the book. Wikipedia says that The Art of War is an ancient Chinese military guide which was written back in the fifth century. It is composed of 13 chapters. It is a military treatise as Sun Tzu was a Chinese general.

The book affects us today without us even realising it. The book states the science and logistics of war as written by a genuine Chinese strategist. These tactics have been used in games to business plans. Sun Tzu's legacy lives on in our everyday lives, and we do not have a single clue.

Can This Book Help Us With Our Everyday Lives?

This book isn't usually linked to bettering lives. This book does have many great morals and teachings, yet we usually do not see life as a war zone. There may be endless suffering in the world, but the link between life and war isn't very close.

We generally don't see life as something that has been inflicting pain on us and I am not telling anybody to start devising a plan to beat life to death. However, some teachings that Sun Tzu may use on the battlefield may be useful for us to know to help us get around our struggles in life.

How This Book Can Help Us

I will use a few famous quotes from the book and try and connect it to our everyday lives.

All warfare is based on deception.

If we see life, in a different perspective and look at it as the enemy, it begs the question, how does it deceive the consciousness within itself? Ponder about this. We should seem to endure in life, yet deep down find a sense of contentment. Should you endeavour to vanquish life, one will just endure more. You should work with life and appreciate it as opposed to abhor it or you will devastate each other.

Additionally, if we look at this extract in more general terms, conflict is derived from deception or being tricked. This state of being tricked works you up, and therefore you think of a way to get revenge and fighting begins.

The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting.

Accordingly, you should appear to be struggling, but within, you know that you have not even worked up a sweat. You should lecture your disturbance in an unassuming and curbed way not delivering any blows or bringing on any signs of conflict.

Along these lines, we discover enduring, and life are the same. They are both so interlaced that forcing and harming one will intrinsically hurt the other so we should all make peace with ourselves and remain meek regardless of all the anxiety.
