I was just going through some of the gospel music videos on one of my social media handles and one of those things I found was music that was war oriented. ‘We are going to war’, it was only a few seconds long but I had to listen to it over and over.
So the first question to start with is what is war and who are those that fight war. First, war talks about a battle line drawn out of disagree so that one side will have to succumb. And the later is this, soldiers get involved.
So are you a soldier? Is there a need to be? Ok, we are not talking about the normal day to day military activities and of course it is still something to learn from. Their behavior, mentality, alertness, commitment and so on. Of course if you wish to come back alive, you will have to take everything in the war zone very seriously.
Let's come back to faith; is there a need to war or get prepared for it?
Galatians 5:16-17 NIV
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.[17]For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want.
This is just one part of it to even start from. Financial challenges can try to drag you back into gambling. Or maybe you just happened to go through your feeds and a nudity video took advantage of the stage. We all have all this online experiences where things can jump in from nowhere. And it starts to stir you up that you are missing a life. You don't just sit cold, start the war, speak the word. You must be able to counter everything the enemy has to offer.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NIV
For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. [4]The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. [5]We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
This is just one phase of the war; the battle to term the flesh. How about the battle to stay relevant in the kingdom?
Ephesians 6:11-12 NIV
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. [12] For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Let me let you know; as long as you are light, the kingdom of darkness are always strategizing to exterminate you. They know that if they can successful end your life, then those you were sent to help will remain in darkness.
You will have to fight; planned accident, attacks in your dream world, attack towards your health and your family. Please don't watch to see what the enemy can do; the duty of the wicked is to be wicked.
Beyond defense, grow offensive. The best place to start the war is at your enemies gate. This is what the Holy Spirit once told me. >'Beyond defense, be offensive or you are likely to die at your gate'.
It is something worth noting, don't always allow the kingdom of darkness to go back and restrategize, pursue them when they are fleeing. Don't wait for war, go to war; the battle line is drawn already, we are at war.
To conclude, let me add, the essence of this article is to spur up the needed awareness. Put on your whole army; day and night, keep releasing the sword of the spirit. We are at war and the best part is that the enemy is fighting a lost battle.
