Hi art lovers on Hive!
Today I bring you another piece from my student days, from 2012, titled:
♥️“The Girl with Red Hair”
As you can see, I decided to paint the model’s hair red. I wanted that color to contrast in a super vibrant way with the outfit. For the clothing, I was inspired by a very summery look: a short top with large ruffles and texture, and matching shorts with lace details on the edges. The red hair and sandals finish giving it that luminous touch.
I intentionally left the face without facial features so that all the attention would be centered on the garment design and the silhouette.
In addition, I had a lot of fun drawing the floral motifs and swirls that frame the figure, using the same tones as the clothing to create harmony throughout the composition.
When I was studying art, this type of work was very common to do; it really stimulates creativity and design.
It was a very lovely illustration exercise, and as you can see from the signature in the corner, it already has a few years on it! But I still really enjoy how the contrast looks.
I’d love to know what you think:
What do you think of the combination of red with green? Would you dare to wear an outfit like this for summer?
I’ll be reading you in the comments!
Thank you so much for making it this far 🥰!
Me gustaría saber qué opinan ustedes:
