Estudio de movimientos del cabello – Sketchbook.
Hi, my drawing today is a small study of hair movement and how the air influences hair. I'll be using arrows to represent both the movement of the hair and its direction and shape. As a model I'll be using a simple drawing of a girl in anime style; she'll have long hair so I can move it easily in my drawings, and for color I'll use red for the hair because I like that color. My tools will be a regular HB pencil, a ballpoint pen, and a red color; I'll be drawing in the agenda I turned into a sketchbook.
Hola, mi dibujo de hoy es un pequeño estudio del movimiento del cabello y cómo el aire influye en el cabello. Estaré usando flechas para representar tanto el movimiento del cabello como la dirección y forma de este. Como modelo estaré usando un dibujo simple de una chica en estilo anime; tendrá el cabello largo para poder moverlo con facilidad en mis dibujos, y de color usaré rojo para el cabello porque me gusta ese color. Mis herramientas serán un lápiz común HB, un bolígrafo y un color rojo; estaré dibujando en la agenda que convertí en sketchbook.
The first thing is to make the base of our character. It will be very simple and without facial expressions; the hair will be the protagonist, and it will be drawn after the base, looking for the shape of the movement. I will always proceed with a pencil sketch, then I'll do the lineart with a ballpoint pen, and finally I'll simply color the hair so it looks nice in the sketchbook.
Lo primero es hacer la base de nuestro personaje. Será bien simple y sin expresiones faciales; el cabello será el protagonista y irá dibujado después de la base, buscando la forma del movimiento. Procederé siempre con un boceto a lápiz, después haré el lineart con bolígrafo y, por último, simplemente colorearé el cabello para que se vea bonito en el sketchbook.
This is how the sketch of the first movement turned out. To the right of the character I drew the arrow with the wind direction; since it blows from her back, the hair goes forward behind the body, and the strands on the forehead move, though more lightly. My drawing is now ready for ink and color.
Así quedó el boceto del primer movimiento. A la derecha del personaje dibujé la flecha con la dirección del viento; como sopla desde su espalda, el cabello va hacia adelante por detrás del cuerpo, y los mechones de la frente se mueven, aunque más ligeros. Ya mi dibujo está listo para la tinta y el color.
This is the final result of the first drawing with the hair colored; I added an extra arrow showing the direction of the hair.
Este es el resultado final del primer dibujo con el cabello coloreado; agregué una flecha extra que muestra la dirección del cabello.
Using the same wind direction from right to left in our view, I'll draw the same character this time facing forward to change the pose. Here the wind moves the hair behind her back, forming a half U. This is the drawing ready to color.
Utilizando la misma dirección del viento de derecha a izquierda en nuestra vista, dibujaré el mismo personaje esta vez de frente para cambiar la pose. Aquí el viento mueve el cabello detrás de su espalda formando una media U. Este es el dibujo listo para colorear.
I colored the drawing's hair red; I'm trying to keep the character consistent across all the movements. I also added small shadows with hatching in some areas so the drawing doesn't feel so empty.
Coloreé el cabello del dibujo de rojo; estoy tratando de que el personaje guarde coincidencia en todos los movimientos. También agregué con hatching pequeñas sombras en algunas zonas para que el dibujo no se sienta tan vacío.
In the next drawing, the character will be facing forward but there will be no wind moving the hair, so all the strands will be falling vertically with only the natural movement of the hair. With the sketch ready, I continue with the ink and color.
En el siguiente dibujo, el personaje estará de frente pero no habrá viento que mueva el cabello, así que todos los mechones estarán cayendo verticalmente solo con el movimiento natural del cabello. Con el boceto listo, continúo con la tinta y el color.
For the ink, I again used a bit of hatching in the dark areas and a somewhat thicker outer line. I drew a big X in a corner so it would be understood that there is no wind movement.
Para la tinta volví a usar un poco de hatching en las zonas oscuras y la línea exterior algo más gruesa. Dibujé una gran X en una esquina para que se entendiera que no hay movimiento del viento.
I colored the hair red again. Ready for the next drawing, which will again correspond to hair without movement, but this time with the character in profile.
Coloreé el cabello nuevamente de rojo. Listo para el siguiente dibujo, que corresponderá nuevamente al cabello sin movimiento, pero esta vez con el personaje de perfil.
This is how my drawing turned out with the ink. I again drew the X to represent the absence of wind and a downward arrow on the left to represent the vertical direction of the hair. In profile, the hair takes the shape of the character's back since it rests on it.
Así quedó mi dibujo con la tinta. Volví a dibujar la X para representar la ausencia de viento y una flecha hacia abajo a la izquierda para representar la dirección vertical del cabello. En el perfil, el cabello toma la forma de la espalda del personaje, ya que descansa sobre ella.
This is the final result of the drawing with the hair colored and ready to jump to the next movement.

In this sketch you can see what the next direction is: the character in profile and the wind blowing directly on her face from left to right. Here the hair moves away and gets tousled at the character's back.
En este boceto pueden ver cuál es la siguiente dirección: el personaje de perfil y el viento soplando directamente en su cara de izquierda a derecha. Aquí el cabello se aleja y se alborota a la espalda del personaje.
I inked quickly, added some shadows, and drew the direction arrow.
Entinté rápidamente, agregué algunas sombras y dibujé la flecha de dirección.
The next wind movement is a somewhat uncommon one, but it gives a lot of dynamism to drawings: the wind blowing from below, tousling the hair and the strands on the forehead. As you can see in the inking, I added not only hatching but also drew the character's mouth and nose, with no specific purpose, just for fun. I also drew two arrows to her right: the upper one indicating the movement of the hair, and the lower one the wind direction.
El siguiente movimiento del viento es uno poco común, pero que le da mucho dinamismo a los dibujos: el viento soplando desde abajo, alborotando el pelo y los mechones de la frente. Como pueden ver en el entintado, agregué no solo hatching, sino que dibujé la boca y nariz del personaje, sin ningún propósito en específico, solo por diversión. También dibujé a su derecha dos flechas: la superior indicando el movimiento del cabello, y la inferior la dirección del viento.
I colored the hair and added some highlights, although I hesitated a lot about where to place them since I didn't define any light source in my drawings.
Coloreé el cabello y agregué algunas luces, aunque dudé mucho de dónde colocarlas, ya que no definí ninguna fuente de luz en mis dibujos.
