I had to vent a little my dear hivers, since yesterday my little world was shaken by the news that my biggest little boy was slowly losing his life.
For me he was small, but he was already 16 years old, tall and very thin, from his first year of age, right on his first birthday he gave him his first epileptic attack in my arms.
Photograph when he turned 16 years old.
With the passage of time the seizures continued, they never warned, not even with his medications, he had been in various hospitals throughout his life, he simply recovered and when he had another epileptic seizure he returned to the same hospital loop.
Unfortunately this time, it was not the same... it was as always, he had another crisis, he was hospitalized... and suddenly he had an attack where he convulsed for about an hour despite the fact that the doctors administered medication to calm him down, I just don't react this time to any.
After a TAG, the doctors detected that his neurons were already dead, he remained in a vegetative state.... he did not come to his senses and it was just waiting for his body to give no more.
His mother is epileptic, his seizures have no warning and hit him in any unimaginable place. We knew each other since we were little, we were always together, in adolescence we had a casual relationship of friends with rights, until the relationship was formalized.
David arrived suddenly, we were young and we had a great time like dogs in heat everywhere without protection, until pummm, the champion arrived.
He was never a normal boy, despite being a teenager it was like talking to a 3 or 5 year old with autism, he was entertained by anything and was excited just by seeing a car go by...
Mandatorily someone always had to take care of him, he could never be taken to an institution, he was raised and cared for mostly by his maternal grandmother to whom I can only offer gratitude and my greatest respects.
He did not stop thinking that he could have done more for my boy, unfortunately I could not raise him since over the years I separated from his mother and they went to live together.
He was tall, cheerful... a champion with a thousand battles against a terrible disease.
In addition, the story is longer, it was not easy to see him and with the passage of time it was more difficult to spend time with him. I think I could have done many more things for him, I should have looked for better medical opportunities, or maybe not treated him like a crystal child.
I regret not having been able to provide you with a better life with greater possibilities of living in the midst of all the misery that exists in Cuba. He could have been a better father and today he might still be alive.
Losing a loved one has no place in life, one would not want it to happen, but it is part of the natural law, however, losing a child changes everything. There are simply no words that can describe such sadness, the whole world falls apart and leaves a void that can never be filled.
You can judge me, but I didn't have the courage to go to his funeral, I didn't have the courage to see him in his immobile and inert state inside a coffin. In fact, I thought I'd have time to at least tell her I love you.
Time heals everything, but the memory remains forever and the loss is irretrievable. Goodbye champion, may God keep you in his glory and I hope we meet again.
If you have the opportunity right now to solve something, do it, if you can say I love you to someone, do it, life doesn't stop and when you least expect it, it catches you off guard and rips you off what you least expect.
I say goodbye for now, God bless you a lot, a big hug...
