Should we take Multivitamin/Multimineral Supplements?
The short answer is it depends.
Pros:
- It is good for bank accounts' manufacturers.
- It is good for all suppliers in the manufacturing process; marketing agents and stores benefit as well.
- It may contribute to a better health condition, especially when consuming low-quality food or when having an unbalanced diet.
Cons:
- It costs money, and there is no scientific evidence that it is helpful.
- The main warning: "This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease".
- "The statement relates to some properties and benefits of part of contained ingredients".
- Possible side effects could happen if already taking Vitamin A (risk of osteoporosis in adults).
I use to consume a pill a day in spite of the fact it could be useless.
