It was very timely back then because I was in the point of constantly asking myself if my blog was worth keeping considering the money I spend for the domain and hosting. Not to mention the energy I spend for the contents. In Beauty blogging, you can have shitty and useless content but still get tons of traffic if you are a celebrity or an influencer who can afford to buy shitloads of new product just to blog about unboxing them. Do I sound bitter? I'm Sorry. I don’t to want to sound like the victim here because I sure have my own short comings too. Perhaps If I put more time and energy on it, things would have been different.
Anyway, the point is, back then I had frustrations about not getting monetary rewards for my efforts. Don’t get me wrong, I have found a passion about blogging and sharing ideas. But I was certain back then that I needed a blog that can “pay bills”. So I gave steemit a try and I was amazed about how much I enjoyed being in the community. I also gained a lot of friends in such a short period of time.
Fast forward two months later, I decided to cash out just for the sake of experiencing how it feels like to earn from writing. I felt really happy. Honeslty, it wasn’t really about the amount but rather the validation of the effort you put in to something Ilove and enjoy doing.
I wanted to buy something that would serve as a trophy that could remind me “Hey, this is my first Steemit Money”. I always wanted a new pair of dancing shoes so I guess now is the best time. I uploaded a video on dtube of an impromptu freestyle dance of John Mayer’s song Gravity.
Though my transitions and lines are a bit messy, I felt really happy while I was dancing with my heels. The feeling was like the first time riding my pink hello kitty bike Daddy gave me as a birthday present- Pure magic.
Also, there is something special about this song. While I was in my first few weeks in Pole dancing, I’m always day dreaming about this day where I can climb up the pole and just dance around with the song. I totally forgot about it and just remembered it just now. I am so glad I did.
How bout you? How did you spend your first Steemit money?
