Good morning, friends!
I just wanted to take this opportunity to point you in the direction of something I think is truly amazing.
It's called Foundation Training.
If you suffer from back pain (and beyond) like so many people in this modern world we live in, this method of retraining and reactivating your own muscles to move the way they were designed to has incredible potential to not only eliminate pain, but maximize capability and performance as well.
"Through a series of postures, poses, and movements, Foundation Training activates your posterior muscle chain, anchors the hips, decompresses the spine, and teaches you to take the burden of supporting the body out of your joints and put it where it belongs: in your muscles." Source
Couldn't have put it better myself ;)
Anyway, I'm just beginning day 3 of my second certification for Foundation Training - over the next few months I will continue to learn with the eventual goal of being able to teach teachers (i.e. educate others on how to teach these methods) as well as working with first responders and integrating the work into more strength training applications.
I am learning so much, and I'm so excited to continue!
So if you're experiencing any back pain or general dysfunction in your muscles/skeletal system that just doesn't feel right, consider taking a look into Foundation Training. It has many layers that can help you to improve function and relieve symptoms far beyond back pain as well - it's just common in modern society for many of our problems to manifest in ways that draw attention to the spine.
Of course it's imperative to consult with your doctor before beginning any exercise/fitness/therapy protocol, but in many cases there is not much harm to be done by practicing Foundation in your daily life - and so much to gain!
You don't have to be suffering to give it a try, either - it helps even the seemingly healthiest people move better, live life more fully and comfortably, and kick as much ass as they can!
Plus, Chris Hemsworth (THOR from The Avengers) does it - just sayin'...
